Improving the Quality of School Management and Lessons

UGAPRIVI offers training programmes for its registered members. UGAPRIVI has 6 regional offices and most of these trainings are conducted at regional level to offer maximum service and proximity to the members. The following trainings are offered to the member institutions:

Group work
Pedagogy and Methodology Training for Instructors: This training is targeted at instructors without pedagogy (teaching) skills. Many vocational training instructors in the institutions do not have the teaching skills and therefore this programme is tailor-made to impart these skills and improve on performance of the trainees in the national examinations and in the world of  employment.

Handing over of certificates
Best Management Practices Training: This training program is a practical hands-on management skills mentoring program aimed at increasing the managerial skills capacity of the Principals and Heads of Departments in member institutions. The course shall help the participants to obtain modern skills required to manage vocational institutions professionally and profitably.

ICT Training
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Training: This is designed as a Training of Trainers’ (ToT) programme from which the trained instructors will impart computer skills to fellow instructors and trainees in the regional Diamond Computer Labs. This project is being implemented in partnership with Diamond ICT and Sequa.

HIV/AIDS for Focal Persons: The main aim of these trainings is for the participants to act as focal persons in their institutions in spearheading HIV/AIDS mainstreaming.
