Partnerships for Development
Mr Bampigga, Chairman UGAPRIVI and Mr Lubanga, Permanent Secretary MoES The private vocational institutions in Uganda face many problems. There are widely differing standards, lack of teaching materials, no standardised curricula as well as poor pedagogy and management skills. As a result UGAPRIVI lobbies for the interests of its members to improve the private vocational training sector as a whole. Therefore UGAPRIVI establishes partnerships with donors, governmental organisations and NGOs as well as with the private industry.
Hon N. Bitamazire, Minister of Education and Sports and Mr A. Muehlen, Ambassador of Germany to Uganda The main development partner is the German Development Service (DED) which supports the Association by offering capacity building though experts. Additionally UGAPRIVI cooperates with the GTZ coordinated PEVOT Programme of the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES). Furthermore, UGAPRIVI has established a partnership with the Uganda Vocational Qualifications Framework Secretariat (UVQF). Recently UGAPRIVI has started a partnership with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Moreover UGAPRIVI is member of the NGO Forum and the Private Sector Foundation of Uganda (PSFU).
